The blue cat

I have done this picture for the Spanish version of a European events guide called Partysan. I had to maintain the upper part and the right bottom corner rather empty for the logo and the titles… and the subject was free.

I started by drawing sketches of the girl and the cat that I imported in 3DS max. I added the mesh of the scooter and I played with the camera. It was really comfortable to choose a good perspective. When I was happy with the settings I drawn the final sketch on paper. I prepared the painted background with really heavy strokes and I painted a first version of the palm trees, of the scooter, of the characters over it

I scanned the painting. Then with Photoshop I refined everything and I worked on all the details, the gloss on the lips, the eyes of the girl, the stripes on her helmet, all the stickers, the spotted layer over the rainbow, the “ghetto blaster sound” and its shadow, the sun, some extra white stains…

Christmas Postcard 2008

It’s a Christmas postcard I've done in collaboration with my team mate Pablo Martin Herrera for our company’s communication.
He has drawn the characters (Santa, the elves…) and I did the background and the color. I mixed the sketches and painted everything with Photoshop.

I tried to get the traditional result of the watercolor and the crayon. And as our company is England based I tried to create the atmosphere of a street in London mixing brick red and blue wooden walls with a lot of snow…

I hope the Christmas spirit will lead you during the next days!

Partysan Butterfly Girl

I have done this picture for the cover of an events guide magazine. This issue of the magazine featured a big interview of the German DJ Ellen Allien, the painted woman.

I mixed a lot of technique, the butterflies are originally renderer with 3DS Max, I create a part of the textures scanning watercolor stains and the woman is a mix of acrylic sketches and Photoshop.

I had to manage black free space in the left corner for the titles.

Skating Girl, Partysan Cover

I paint this cover for the Spanish version of an European events guide called Partysan. I had to maintain the upper part and the right bottom corner rather empty for the logo and the titles.

I wanted to get the effects and textures that you usually obtain using traditional media. I drawn various sketches and painted several backgrounds with water colors and acrylic. Then I scanned everything and I started to mix the layers and add the details with Photoshop.
